Hong Kong Canto pop star Aaron Kwok Fu Shing will welcome the New Year with two major concerts at Kai Tak Main Arena, marking his first appearance at the newly established Hong Kong venue.
Aaron Kwok will take the stage at Kai Tak Main Arena on December 31, 2026 and January 1, 2027, bringing his ICONIC MOMENT Kai Tak New Year’s Eve Concert 26/27 to the venue for two nights of music, dance and large scale stage production.
The concerts will begin at 9:30pm on December 31 and 7:30pm on January 1, giving audiences two opportunities to see Kwok perform as Hong Kong prepares to enter 2027. The shows are being presented by Mui Studio, with FWD Insurance as title sponsor.
For Kwok, the concerts represent more than another stop on his long performing career. The Kai Tak appearance will be his first at the Main Arena, a venue designed for major entertainment and sporting events. His team has said they intend to use the scale of the venue to expand the production and create more opportunities for interaction between the performer and the audience.
A Bigger Stage for Aaron Kwok
Kwok has built a reputation over decades for treating his concerts as large visual productions rather than straightforward music performances. His Kai Tak shows are expected to continue that approach, with a larger dance troupe, extensive lighting, new costumes and a selection of his established songs.
The singer has indicated that the size of Kai Tak Main Arena gives his creative team more room to experiment with the stage. The production is expected to combine music and choreography with large scale visual effects, while the team works on ways to ensure audiences across the venue can maintain a clear view of the performance.
That focus on audience visibility is particularly relevant for a performer whose concerts often rely heavily on movement and choreography. Kwok has spent much of his career developing productions around elaborate stage mechanics, dance sequences and visual effects, making the physical relationship between the stage and audience an important part of his shows.
His 2007 concert production featured a 360 degree rotating stage that earned a Guinness World Record. Over the years, he has also incorporated concepts including water effects, elevated stages, trampoline elements and other specialised stage designs into his performances.
The Kai Tak production gives him another large venue in which to develop that style.

New Promotional Image Reveals Red Costume
The announcement has also been accompanied by a new promotional campaign centred on Kwok’s image for the concerts.
The newly released poster features the singer dressed in red, a colour chosen to fit the festive New Year setting. The costume was created by renowned Hong Kong artist and stylist William Chang Suk Ping, while photographer Wing Shya was involved in the visual campaign.
The promotional shoot involved multiple costume changes before the red outfit was selected for the first official release. According to reports surrounding the campaign, Kwok and the creative team wanted the imagery to reflect the energy and celebratory mood associated with the New Year performances.
The collaboration brings together several familiar names from Hong Kong's fashion, photography and entertainment industries. Chang has worked extensively in film and fashion, while Shya is known for his work across photography and visual projects.
For the concert campaign, the visual presentation is being treated as part of the wider performance concept rather than simply as advertising for the shows.
Two Nights to Welcome 2027
The choice of dates places the concerts directly at the centre of Hong Kong's New Year celebrations.
The first performance will take place on December 31, with Kwok scheduled to appear at 9:30pm. The second show will follow on January 1 at 7:30pm.
The organisers have positioned the performances as a chance for fans to celebrate the transition into a new year with live music and stage entertainment. The December 31 concert will also form part of the city's wider New Year's Eve programme, when large numbers of residents and visitors traditionally gather for celebrations.
The decision to stage the event at Kai Tak Main Arena also reflects the growing use of the venue for major entertainment productions. The arena has hosted large concerts since Kai Tak Sports Park opened, including New Year performances by mainland Chinese singer Zhou Shen during the transition from 2025 to 2026.
Kwok's arrival adds one of Hong Kong's best known Canto pop performers to the venue's concert calendar.
Ticket Sales Set for October
Fans planning to attend will have several ticketing stages to watch.
The announced ticket prices range from HK$480 to HK$1,680, with six price categories available. HSBC Mastercard priority booking is scheduled for October 9 and 10, followed by a Klook package presale on October 12 and 13. General sales through HK Ticketing and Damai are scheduled to begin on October 14 at 10am.
The priority booking arrangements are divided across the two HSBC booking days, with different eligible Mastercard products included in each period. Fans interested in priority access will therefore need to check the eligibility requirements before attempting to purchase tickets.
The organisers have also listed Klook as the package presale platform, while HK Ticketing and Damai will handle the general sale.
The announcement of the dates is likely to put the October ticket release on the radar of Kwok's long established fan base, particularly those hoping to attend the December 31 performance.
Kwok Promises a New Kai Tak Experience
While the singer has performed on some of Hong Kong's biggest stages, the Kai Tak concerts will give him an opportunity to develop a production specifically for the Main Arena.
Kwok and his team have said they want to make full use of the venue's size rather than simply transfer an existing concert format to a larger building. That means expanding the dance ensemble, increasing the scale of lighting and visual effects and introducing new stage costumes.
The performance will also draw on Kwok's catalogue of popular songs, combining established hits with choreography and the visual elements that have become closely associated with his live shows.
His approach to concerts has consistently placed physical performance at the centre of the experience. The 360 degree rotating stage that received a Guinness World Record in 2007 remains one of the clearest examples of how he has used stage technology to reshape the traditional concert format.
At Kai Tak, the challenge will be different. Instead of focusing on a single mechanical feature, the production team is working with a much larger environment and an audience spread across the Main Arena.
That could allow the concert to place greater emphasis on movement across the stage, lighting coverage and direct engagement with spectators.
For Kwok, the two performances will also offer an opportunity to begin the new year in a venue that has quickly become part of Hong Kong's major entertainment calendar.
With the first show scheduled for December 31 and ticket priority booking beginning on October 9, fans now have a firm date for the next step. Will Aaron Kwok's first Kai Tak performance become the New Year concert you want to experience in person?
