British fashion designer Kim Jones will open the first global flagship store for his newly launched label at Central Yards in Hong Kong in 2027, bringing his latest fashion venture to a major retail development overlooking Victoria Harbour. The announcement adds an internationally recognised designer to the project as Hong Kong seeks to strengthen its position as a destination for luxury shopping, fashion and creative industries.
Henderson Land, the developer behind Central Yards, announced the planned opening, describing Jones’s arrival as a vote of confidence in Hong Kong’s role in international culture and fashion. The store will occupy one of five signature duplex retail spaces at the development, combining two levels of shopping space with open terraces and connections between indoor and outdoor areas.
Jones said Hong Kong was a city he knew well and that the new store would give him an opportunity to develop his label in a different setting.
“Hong Kong is a city I know well, and opening our first flagship at Central Yards gives us an opportunity to explore those ideas in a new context,” Jones said. He added that he looked forward to creating a space that reflected the label’s identity and its future direction.
The planned opening will form part of Central Yards’ first phase, which is expected to include approximately 300,000 square feet of retail space and around 100 brands and concepts spanning fashion, lifestyle and dining.

The planned store will cover approximately 4,000 square feet across two levels. Its design will include internal staircases, open terraces and entrances that connect the interior with outdoor areas.
The location is intended to offer more than a conventional shopfront. Its duplex layout will give the brand room to create a retail environment that reflects Jones’s approach to fashion, which has often brought streetwear influences into conversation with luxury design.
Henderson Land chairman Martin Lee Ka-shing welcomed the designer’s decision to establish the label’s first global flagship at Central Yards.
“As a visionary bridging street culture and high fashion, his presence is a powerful vote of confidence in Hong Kong’s standing as a global creative capital,” Lee said.
The announcement places Jones among the fashion names expected to shape the development’s retail offering. His store will occupy one of five signature duplex concept maisons, with views of Victoria Harbour forming part of the setting.
The developer has not yet disclosed the store’s precise opening date, its full interior design or details of the products that will be available at launch. The confirmed plan is for the flagship to open in 2027.

What Makes Central Yards Different?
Central Yards is being developed as a mixed retail and cultural destination rather than a shopping centre focused solely on stores. Its first phase will feature approximately 300,000 square feet of retail space, with about 100 brands and concepts across fashion, lifestyle and dining.
The retail area will extend from the ground floor to Level Three. Henderson Land plans a promenade style layout that links indoor shopping areas with outdoor spaces, allowing visitors to move between different parts of the development.
Duplex retail spaces on Level One will feature interiors inspired by three themes: “Sea, Land and Sky.” These concepts are intended to shape the look and feel of the spaces while connecting the development with its waterfront setting.
Jones’s flagship is expected to form part of this approach. Its terraces, internal staircases and two level layout offer opportunities for the brand to create a more distinctive experience than a standard single floor retail unit.
For fashion labels, flagship stores can serve several purposes. They provide a physical location for customers to explore collections, offer space for brand events and allow designers to express a creative identity through architecture and interiors. In a city with a strong luxury shopping sector, the arrival of a new international flagship can also attract attention from visitors interested in fashion and design.
Central Yards’ retail mix is expected to combine established names with new concepts. The developer has not released a complete list of participating brands, so the final composition of the retail offering remains to be confirmed.
Fashion, Arts and Cultural Events Planned
Central Yards will also include public spaces and cultural programming alongside its retail areas. Henderson Land says the project will feature a private theatre designed to Broadway calibre standards, 12 outdoor event spaces and open areas for pop up kiosks, cultural markets and seasonal festivals.
These facilities are intended to support events beyond shopping, giving visitors opportunities to attend performances, explore temporary markets and take part in community activities.
The theatre and outdoor spaces could allow the development to host a range of programmes throughout the year. However, the developer has not yet provided a full schedule of events or confirmed which cultural organisations will participate.
The combination of retail and public programming reflects a broader approach to commercial development in which shopping is one part of a larger visitor experience. For Central Yards, the challenge will be to translate those plans into regular activities that draw people to the site beyond the opening of individual stores.
Jones’s flagship could contribute to that programme through fashion related events or other brand activities, although no such plans have been announced.

Why Kim Jones’s Appointment Matters for Hong Kong
Jones has built an international reputation through work that connects contemporary street culture with luxury fashion. His decision to open his new label’s first global flagship in Hong Kong gives the city a prominent role in the brand’s initial physical retail presence.
The move also adds to Central Yards’ effort to attract international fashion and lifestyle concepts. A flagship store can give a label a stronger public presence while offering customers a place to experience its collections directly.
For Hong Kong, the announcement arrives as the city continues to compete for shoppers, visitors and international brands. Luxury retail remains closely connected to tourism, hospitality and the wider consumer economy, while cultural venues and public events can give visitors additional reasons to spend time in commercial districts.
Lee’s comments framed Jones’s arrival as a sign of confidence in Hong Kong’s creative standing. The opening itself, however, is a commercial commitment rather than proof of a wider change in the market. Its long term impact will depend on customer interest, the label’s development and Central Yards’ ability to attract visitors.
The project’s location overlooking Victoria Harbour provides a distinctive setting, but its success will also depend on the mix of tenants, the quality of its public spaces and the experiences available throughout the year.
What to Expect Before the 2027 Opening
The store is scheduled to open in 2027, giving the label and developer time to develop the retail space before welcoming customers. Further details about the flagship’s design, collections and launch activities have yet to be announced.
Central Yards’ first phase is expected to bring together fashion, dining, lifestyle brands and cultural venues across approximately 300,000 square feet of retail space. The planned 100 brands and concepts will help determine how the development takes shape as a destination for both local residents and international visitors.
Jones’s store will be one of five signature duplex concept maisons and will occupy around 4,000 square feet across two levels. Its open terraces and indoor outdoor connections are expected to distinguish the space within the development.
